Nibylandia cooks with Bulgarians.
On Monday 17th of May 2010 we had very unique guests.
On the workshops "Finger across a map of Europe" where we discuss the culture of different european countries, thanks to Mr. Michal Baranowski, we were able to invite Bulgarians. They come to tell us about their country and cook some bulgarians meals.
We had the great honor to have with us Mrs. Iliana Geneva-Puchalewa academic teacher and author of wonderful books called "Balkan kitchen notes" along with her husband, Mr. Simon Geneva, who is the author of graphic design of her books.
These books are really worth recommending what I'd like to do now, you can get them along with the Balkan music on www.zograph.org
Our guests came to us from Krakow, where they now live, along with their daughter Ewa, who has actively participated in cooking and especially in the testing of cheese.
Cooking with them was an unforgettable adventure. Original recipes, products and fragrances for a moment have moved us to Bulgaria. We learned to do Banitsa, Tarator and for the dessert halvah from semolina. Mmmm, finger lickin good! I guess that preparing Banitsa have caused us the biggest problems but the taste was amazing. For which we were grateful to Illiana and Kinga and Paulina, who have done a great job!
We wish to thank our guests for an amazing workshops that they have done for us and for the book that they gave us as an inspiration for future culinary activities.
Thank you also for the good atmosphere and for your heart for the children.
See you someday again!
